    • Can I upgrade my Standard SIM to a Universal, DataMax or DataMax eSIM SIM or my regular size SIM to a micro or nano SIM?

      Yes. If you would like to upgrade your Standard, Plus, Europe & More, Expedition version SIM card to a Universal, DataMax, or DataMax eSIM SIM card, or upgrade a regular size SIM card to a micro-SIM card (for example, to use in an iPhones) then place your order online by selecting the product option on our Mobile Accessories page here. In the shopping cart you will be able to select your upgrade.

    • When does a Personal Extra Number (PEN) subscription start?

      New SIM card orders with PENs

      Your monthly, quarterly, bi-annual or annual subscription to a Personal Extra Number starts the moment your order has been shipped. If you do not need your Extra Number to be active right away, you can always wait and order an Extra Number later at any time by logging into your account.

      eSIM orders on onesimcard.com do not require shipping.

      PENs added to existing SIM cards

      These PEN subscriptions are activated right after the order has been processed. The activation is virtuallyinstant, unless your PEN order requires additional documents for verification. Please see the local number information page for the list of any additional document requirements by country.

      Free Trial PENs

      Many SIM cards come with Free Trial PENs that are inactive by default. You can activate Free trial PENs at any time from your account.

      BANK SMS Verification PEN

      The SMS Verification PEN is the only PEN that can be used without a SIM card. These PENs are activated instantly if ordered on their own or added to an existing active SIM card.

    • When my order will be shipped?

      Sim card orders placed during business hours will be shipped the next business day. The only exceptions are phones that are out of stock. In this case you will be notified about delayed shipping during the purchase.

    • How long will it take for my OneSimCard to be delivered?

      Your order will be shipped the next business day.

      We offer several delivery options for shipments to the USA:

      • USPS First Class Mail Package

      Your order should arrive in 1-5 business days,Tracking is available for US deliveries. It is not available for international deliveries.

      • USPS Priority mail
        Your order should arrive within 2-3 business days, but it is not guaranteed. You will be provided tracking details with this method
      • UPS UPS Next Day Early.
        Delivery guaranteed by 10 AM or 3 PM.
      • UPS 2nd Day Air
        Delivery is guaranteed in 2 business days.
      • UPS Next Day
        Next day delivery to most locations in the USA.
      • UPS Next Day Saver

      Next day delivery to most locations in the USA

      • UPS Ground
        Delivery guaranteed in 1-6 business days depending on the destination from Boston, where we ship from.
      • USPS Express Mail Large Envelope or Flat

      1-2 business days

      For orders shipped outside of USA:

      • International Air Mail - usually takes 5 to 30 business days, no tracking
      • US Postal Service International Priority - delivery time depends on the country
      • UPS International - 2-6 business days - depends on the country and location in the country. This is the most reliable shipping option.

      You will get more detailed information about the delivery to your destination when you start placing your order.

      Any eSIM order does not require any shipping so this is a great way to avoid shipping costs and time. Just download and go!
75. How To Use Questions

    • There is no OneSimCard Menu (SIM Toolkit) in my Android phone. How can I fix this?

      Some recent Android upgrades to versions 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 have a bug causing the OneSimCard Menu, labeled as SIM Toolkit, to be disabled.

      If you do not see the SIM Toolkit app in your Android phone, please try doing the following:

      Go to Settings>Security>Other Security Settings>Setup SIM Card Lock>Lock SIM Card. It will ask for the default SIM PIN. Enter 0000. Power off the phone and turn it back on. The SIM Toolkit app will then become available, though it might take 1-2 minutes for the phone to display it.

      On Android version 5.1 go to Settings > SIM Cards > SIM Toolkit

      Once you have access to the SIM Toolkit, select it, scroll down to Settings, enter 1101 and press confirm. Your phone will now be able to dial normally.

      For eSIM cards, make certain that your eSIM is enabled.

       
76. How To Use Questions

    • How should I send an SMS to get charged only 15 cents per text message?

      There are two ways for SMS message to be sent:

      • From the OneSimCard application menu called OneSimCard - TravelSMS. To send the message, you need to locate OneSimCard menu on the phone and then scroll down to TravelSMS menu. Sending text message this way is the least expensive and will cost you 15 cents per message from any country.
      • Usual way from SMS sending menu of the phone. It cost 40 cents per text message from most countries with the exception of few countries where the rates are higher.

      Another way to reduce the cost of sending Text is to use the SIM VOIP app and send SMS from the app. This will reduce the cost of sending SMS significantly.


      Bear in mind that sending SMS messages to the abbreviated special SMS destinations like voting, music downloads, etc. will cost you $9.00 per message.

       

      This does not apply to DataMax SIM cards.
77. How To Use Questions

    • I changed the caller ID in My SIM Cards menu to my PEN. However, SMS are still delivered with my 372 number. Can this be changed?

      Unfortunately, due to most mobile carriers fighting SMS spam, it is no longer possible to replace the caller ID with your PEN. That said, outgoing calls made from your Universal, Expedition or World eSIMs will come with the PEN number displayed. 

      You can also send SMS with your PEN displayed as the caller ID using the OneSim VoIP app. USA and Canadian PENs are SMS capable.
78. How To Use Questions

    • How to activate and set up the mobile data service on your mobile device or tablet?

      1. Log in to your account at www.onesimcard.com using the email address and password you entered during the activation or registration of the SIM.
      2. To enable data, go to your My SIM Cards menu, select your SIM card, scroll down to Internet Data and click ‘Enable’.
      2a. For DataMax SIM cards, you can disable Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG)/Per MB data on your online account in the "My SIM Cards" menu. You will see " in the "Select SIM Card" section an area labeled "Use w/o Plan:" to disable per MB data use, this should be turned off. It is recommended to use data plans whenever/wherever available.
      3. Turn on Data Roaming on your phone.
      This is all that is needed for mobile data to work.

    • Can I use OneSimCard service if my phone is locked?

      Yes. There are a few options available if your phone is locked to the carrier that sold you the phone.

      • Try contacting the carrier to see if they unlock it for you.
      • You can purchase a travel phone bundle with the SIM at

      You can purchase a MI-FI device with aOneSimCard SIM card (Universal, Expedition or DataMax physical SIM card) at http://www.onesimcard.com/international-cell-phones/. The Mi-Fi device will provide your locked Android or iPhone with mobile data over Wi-Fi connection that you can use on your phone for Voice and Texts using SIM VOIP app, as well as data for web browsing, email, GPS navigation, etc.
80. Ordering Questions

    • Will my order require a signature upon delivery?

      Yes, please assume that your order will require a signature if it contains a cell phone.
